Background/History
Irene's interest in human potential and personal development began in her teens as a trainee teacher at Newlands College,London. She then moved to the United States to study Drama and Theatre Direction at Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts.
After a period in Europe, working with teenagers with emotional difficulties, Irene returned to Scotland to study Psychology at the University of Stirling, being awarded her degree of Bachelor of Science.
In Aberdeen, Irene worked with adults with learning difficulties. During this time she continued developing her own skills, gaining a Certificate for the postgraduate course in Person Centred Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Northern College, Aberdeen.
Irene then went on to gain a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy from the London College of Clinical Hypnosis, as well as Master Class Awards in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Stress Relief, Past Life Regression, Inner Child, and Life and Sports Enhancement. Irene is a full Member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists.
A practising consultant for many years, Irene's numerous clients have included business and professional people. She has learned about the many potential communication problems within business organisations and the need for greater self-and-other awareness by all members of these organisations.
As a result of her experience with various organisations, Irene decided to pursue business and management processes through a Master's Degree in Entrepreneurship and Management at the University of Aberdeen. Given her interest in communication in the workplace, her dissertation covered research into Emotional Intelligence (effective communication) and Leadership.
Irene has been involved with Core Empowerment Training (CET) under the tutelage of Dr Paula Horan in India.
CET is a holistic approach centred on the individual attaining self-mastery and learning how to work from the heart as well as the mind.
The training is concerned with self-and-other awareness, as well as self-fulfillment. It provides tools and techniques for engendering and advancing Emotional Intelligence, and a series of seminars and training programmes have been developed for business organisations.
Irene's complimentary qualifications and skill set enable her to adopt a holistic approach when working with individuals and organisations.
Organisations can benefit from this unique and proven approach to improving their effectiveness.
